This September, Motiv8 Addiction Services is inviting the Isle of Man community to come together for its Road to Recovery Walk 2026 a walk community, hope, recovery and resilience.
Taking place on Sunday 20 September, the walk is an opportunity to walk alongside people who are on their own recovery journey, remember those who have been lost, support families and friends and to show anyone struggling that they are not alone.
Whether you are walking because recovery has touched your own life, because you want to support someone you care about, or simply because you believe in the work Motiv8 does across the Island, everyone is welcome.
Walkers will make their way from Douglas towards Peel along the old heritage railway line for 11 miles, creating a powerful journey that reflects the message at the heart of recovery: there is always a way forward. For those who would like to walk but would like a reduced route then there is the option of a 3 mile walk from St Johns to Peel.
You don’t have to walk alone, bring your family, friends, colleagues, walking group, dogs and be part of something positive.
Walk for someone. Walk for recovery. Walk for hope.
The Road to Recovery Walk is also an important fundraiser for Motiv8 Addiction Services. Every penny raised helps Motiv8 continue providing free, confidential support to individuals and families across the Isle of Man experiencing difficulties with alcohol, drugs, gambling or gaming.
Motiv8 has been supporting the Island’s community since 1978, helping thousands of people find a way forward and supporting families along the way.
The walk is a chance to make a difference while enjoying the Island’s community spirit and you don’t have to be a regular fundraiser to take part. If you are able to raise sponsorship, we would love your support, but simply signing up and taking part makes a difference.
So, who will you walk for?
A loved one?
A friend?
Someone who is on their own recovery journey?
Someone you have lost?
Or perhaps yourself?
Whatever your reason, carry hope with you and join us on Sunday 20 September.
